After triggering a government crisis by photographing
Sweden’s foreign minister buying sex in Berlin, ambitious
freelance journalist Nina’s career takes an even bigger turn
when she, of all people, is recruited as the press secretary to
the new foreign minister – aid worker Jacob Weiss. Weiss is
easy on the eyes, incredibly charismatic, and immediately wins
over the Swedish public. He quickly notices Nina’s competence
and gives her greater responsibility, all the while she becomes
increasingly entangled in the ruthless power play that prevails
in the corridors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Weiss is
young, unknown, and completely untested in politics. But who
is he really?
Political consultant Maxie is tasked with investigating Weiss’s
past. The process is rushed, and although there is an eightmonth
gap in Weiss’s career that Maxie hasn’t had time to
verify, he is still appointed. Suddenly, Maxie’s life takes a turn
– she gets a break-in, an anonymous source is killed, and she
stops receiving job offers. She decides to dig deeper into Weiss
and the people around him, convinced she will bring skeletons
out of the closet.
